Promoting The Arts
I am an Architect who started The Wye Valley Arts Centre back in 1995. It provides courses in the Arts for adult learners and the aim was that when the Centre became self sufficient ie the fees paid by the students covered the running costs then any profit would form the basis of a Charitable Trust which would provide workshops for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds from all over the UK. The amount of Art Education available in our school system is inadequate and for children in care virtually non existant. Drawing and Painting is something you do when its raining! I am a little loathe to write too much more at present as not being very good with the computer, I just spent a great deal of time writing a lengthy piece about The Centre and its aims only to somehow have wiped it out whilst rying to download some pictures into it. When I become a bit more competent I will try again. |
